Ilfracombe
is a charming little resort noted for its harbour, its picturesque site,
parks with prize-winning floral displays, its secluded beaches and coastal
walks.
It also has all the facilities one would expect such as a range of shops and restaurants, an excellent indoor swimming pool, a cinema and a museum. The Landmark Theatre and Winter Gardens provide regular plays, shows and films.

There are boat trips available locally including one to Lundy Island,
horse-riding, pony trekking and bird watching as well as sea fishing,
water sports, golf and tennis. In the area there are many National Trust
and other historic houses to be visited and antique shops are not hard
to find.
Ilfracombe is also an ideal base for exploring the beautiful scenery of North Devon - the high rolling moorlands of the Exmoor National Park (the setting for Lorna Doone) where red deer and wild Exmoor ponies can be seen - many villages which preserve their old world charm - the dramatic coastline and beaches where surf rolls on to clean and uncrowded sands.
David and Marianna are always ready to supply information and advice about events, places of interest, entertainment and a host of delightful walks and drives, including suggestions for themed itineraries such as gardens, history or an antiques trail.
